30 ROSES of Tralee will return to Kerry’s Capital to take part in the 60 Year Celebrations of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

They will take part in many official events, but the parade is likely to be their highlight of the week with the Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club (KVVCCC) providing the vehicles to take them through the crowded streets on Saturday 24th August.
The KVVCCC will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year having been formed by Tom Twohill and PJ O’Riordan in September 1979, after its first run in the Rose of Tralee in August of that year.
The Secretary of the Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club, Garrett Foley, said: “We are extremely proud to be associated with the 60th Year Celebrations of the Rose of Tralee International Festival which coincides with our own 40th anniversary. We are grateful to our members who have made their magnificent cars available to drive the Roses of Tralee through the town that has given them many happy memories down the years.”

The return of the Roses to Tralee is an important part of this year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival. They will attend the Kerry County Council’s Official Opening of the Festival in the Square at 12pm followed by lunch at Kirby’s Brogue Inn on Friday 23rd August, before preparing for the Rose Ball later that night. On Saturday 24th August, the first Rose of Tralee, Alice O’Sullivan, will be joined by Roses of Tralee from different years for lunch with the Mayor of Tralee on Saturday in Meadowlands Hotel. They will also take part in the parade which commences at 8.30pm.
