TY students at Pres Tralee
hosted language cafés as part of the school’s Annual Language Week on Tuesday 24th for 2nd and 4th years. This event has really captured the imagination of all students the last few years as TY waitresses take orders from customers who have to select from the delicious treats on the menus of the French and German cafés – ranging from “Chocolate chaud” to crépes and lots of other baked goods. A full range of other activities was provided for all year groups in the school in both German and French ranging from Bingo, quizzes, Poster competitions to Treasure hunts! All these activities encouraged the students to speak their chosen languages in a practical context.”
