Four Gala convenience stores from throughout County Kerry have been awarded the Gala B.E.S.T Award for excellence in retail at the 2019 Gala B.E.S.T Awards, which took place this week at The K Club in Co. Kildare.
Presented to stores that are deemed ‘outstanding’ following a comprehensive and independent assessment process under the Gala ‘Business Excellence Standards Tool’ (B.E.S.T) programme, the B.E.S.T. Awards recognise excellence in retailing throughout the Gala Group.
The four local stores that received Gala B.E.S.T Awards at the event were Daly’s Gala, Waterville; Gala Mounthawk, Tralee; Gala Oak Park, Tralee and O’Sheas’ Gala in Blennerville which also took home the Brand Champion Award.
Speaking at the conference, Gala CEO, Gary Desmond, said: “The Gala B.E.S.T awards recognise excellence in retailing across the entire Gala Group of stores and we offer our congratulations to all of the Kerry stores who have been recognised as outstanding in the field of convenience retailing.
Mr Desmond spoke about the success of the Gala Group’s multi award-winning partnership with Special Olympics Ireland; the forthcoming Gala Gifts for Schools campaign which will see Gala present €30,000 across three winning primary schools and the first ever-Sunday Independent / Gala Retail Inspiration Awards, which seeks entries for 6 Categories. The Awards ceremony takes place in the Marker Hotel in November.
Gala was established in 1998 and there are now 200 stores in the Gala Retail Group, including Gala and Your Stop stores. Gala stores are locally owned and are renowned for their commitment to the local communities in which they operate.
