Kerry faced Longford Town at Bishopsgate, marking their second encounter this season. The match saw the debut of four new signings, including Lee Axworthy and Daniel Okwute. The first half showed Kerry’s early dominance with a high press strategy, but Longford managed to score just before halftime through Gary Armstrong’s superb strike.
In the second half, Kerry equalized with a penalty from Leo Gaxha, displaying good pressure in both defense and attack. However, Longford regained the lead with Christian Magersun’s goal from a corner kick. Despite Kerry’s efforts, they couldn’t find an equalizer, and the game ended 2-1 in favor of Longford.

Kerry FC manager, Billy Dennehy, praised the impact of the new signings and their competition for starting places. Despite the loss, Kerry displayed promising signs, dominating possession at times. They now look forward to the FAI Cup’s first-round clash against Ringmahon Rangers, hoping to secure their first home win of the season.
