Do you have a child aged between 7 and 12? Are they interested in playing Irish music, singing traditional songs, or dancing reels, jigs, and hornpipes?

If you’ve answered yes to those questions, your child might like to audition for Siamsa Tíre’s National Folk Training Academy.

This is a three-year formal educational training programme where children are trained in Irish dancing, traditional singing, music, and drama. If they are successful in the auditions, they will be invited to attend weekly classes which take place at the theatre from October until May.

This year’s auditions are taking place via online submissions and parents are asked to record their children singing a song or performing a piece of music or an Irish dance. This can then be uploaded to www.siamsatire.com/nft. The deadline for receipt of videos is July 30th.
