Lilly O Donnell who was the Rosebud to the 2022 New York Rose , was invited to march in the New York St Patricks Day Parade last week . Lilly is a second class pupil of Gaelscoil Mhic Easminn in Tralee and heres her account of the fantastic event
“Walking down 5th Avenue for the St. Patricks Day Parade as the New York Rosebud was magical, all the crowds, the music, the atmosphere was amazing.
I met a lot of Irish people on St. Patricks day as they all gathered to celebrate. After the parade I did an interview with Mid West Radio from Mayo. While in New York I got to see some of the sights, like the Statute of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, the Ice Cream Museum, the American Girl Doll Shop and we also went ice skating. Memories were made which I will never forget.I travelled to New York with my mum and my sisters Laura & Emily. Thank you to my dad who made this all possible. I have really enjoyed my time as a Rose Bud. “
