Killarney’s first underground bar and speakeasy, Pig’s Lane, has won the gold award for ‘Innovative Bar of the Year’ at the 2024 Bar of the Year Awards. The ceremony, held at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin, celebrated excellence and innovation in Ireland’s bar industry.
Opened earlier this year, Pig’s Lane is part of the O’Donoghue Ring Collection, known for venues like Café du Parc and The Tan Yard. The bar features hand-crafted cocktails by world champion mixologist Ariel Sanecki, natural and vegan wines, locally sourced snacks, a hidden whiskey parlour, and live music.
The bar’s name honors the original Pig’s Lane, which existed in the early 1800s on the same site. Ariel Sanecki, Drinks Development Manager, expressed pride in winning the award, highlighting the team’s dedication to innovation and excellence. He noted that the award is especially meaningful given the rise of exceptional independent bars across Ireland.
Pig’s Lane is located on College Street in Killarney and is open seven days a week. For more information, visit their website or Instagram page.
