A new school of speech and drama will be open for business in Collis Sandes House,Tralee from Thursday October 6 under the direction of drama teacher, Sharon Costello.  Dramatix promises to deliver an exciting new programme to students of all ages, at both primary and secondary level, which aims to ignite the imagination and inspire confident speakers and thinkers among the people of Tralee.  Sharon has just completed her Licentiate Diploma of Teaching with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama and has a very high exam success rate with students completing their exams with her for the past couple of years.  Students can prepare for a range of exams in Speech and Drama, Acting, Communication Skills, Public Speaking/Presentation Skills to name a few.   Sharon has many years’ experience in performance and teaching and has a first class honours degree in Folk Theatre Studies from the Institute of Technology, Tralee which was run in partnership with Siamsa Tire.  She also holds a Masters Degree in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Limerick.  Sharon taught drama and dance for five years with Bryan Carr School of Performing Arts and has worked as a drama facilitator, producing and co-directing with Free Range Youth Theatre, Free Radicals YT and Duisigh YT in Tralee since 2009.  With the teaching experience she has gained over the past 8 years she has decided that the time is ripe for a new adventure of her own and she said, “I am so passionate about the arts and especially about speech and drama.  There is great power in being able to express yourself confidently, for people of all ages.”  If you would like to enrol for a class or make an enquiry call Sharon on: 086 8619522.
