Kelliher Electrical Tralee proudly received the award for ‘Most Improved Branch’ in lighting recycling at Ireland’s second Association of Electrical Wholesalers (AEW) awards in Dublin.
Sponsored by Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Ireland, the awards celebrated top performers in lighting recycling among AEW’s 130 members last year. Kelliher Electrical Tralee was honored for its green, sustainable practices in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in 2023.
“We are thrilled to be recognized for our commitment to recycling waste lighting from our customers,” said Ann Shanahan of Kelliher Electrical Tralee. “This award significantly boosts our team’s morale and reaffirms our dedication to making a positive environmental impact, no matter how small.”
Fourteen lighting recycling recognition awards were given across the six wholesale trade buying groups within AEW – CEF, EWL Electric, Fegime, IEBG, Kellihers, and Independents. Each group received awards for Best Performing Branch and Most Improved Branch.
Additional awards included Best Performing Group, which went to IEBG, and Best Performing Branch for ‘WEEE Handling and Presentation,’ awarded by WEEE Ireland’s recycling partner, Irish Lamps Recycling. Twelve staff training awards and two special recognition awards were also presented.
