Google, Enterprise Ireland, and the Local Enterprise Offices have joined forces to announce the 2023 You’re The Business competition, aimed at enhancing the digital skills of Irish SMEs. This initiative seeks to recognize businesses across Ireland that have embraced digital transformation, regardless of where they are in their digital journey, whether they’ve recently launched a website or are venturing into international markets.
SMEs are encouraged to participate by submitting a video, no longer than two minutes, that highlights the significance of their business and showcases how digital technologies have contributed to their growth. Submissions will be accepted until October 31st, 2023.
A panel of esteemed judges will select the winning SMEs, who will receive a digital support package from Google. This package includes a €1,000 Google ads credit and mentorship in various technical domains to help them expand their business. Additionally, one SME that has excelled in online business promotion will be awarded a video creation kit.
Cera Ward, Managing Director at Google Ireland, emphasized Google’s commitment to aiding Irish SMEs in upskilling. Last year’s entries inspired Google, showcasing how SMEs leveraged online presence to succeed domestically and internationally. This year’s competition aims to discover more SMEs with unique challenges and digital aspirations, with Google eager to support their digital evolution.
Caryna Camerino of Camerino Bakery shared her experience, highlighting how going digital allowed their business to flourish, especially during the launch of their new cafe in the Irish Museum of Modern Art. With Google’s assistance, they aim to expand their customer base through online marketing, newsletters, and email campaigns.
