THE Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher, and the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Graham Spring, will switch on the Christmas Lights in The Square, Tralee at 5pm on Saturday 24th November, heralding the start of five weeks of Festive fun in Kerry’s Shopping Capital.

Tralee boasts the most colourful and decorative Christmas lights in Ireland and they are best enjoyed while shopping for gifts or spending time with family, friends or colleagues in the run-up to the most wonderful time of the year.

There will be live music under the Marquee in The Mall throughout Christmas in Tralee, and the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display on Denny Street from 7pm on Monday 31st December will give families an opportunity to ring in 2019 in style.

FREE parking has long been a key aspect of the Christmas season to encourage shoppers to come into the town centre and once again, Tralee Municipal District are offering FREE on-street parking and in council carparks from 1pm daily from Monday 3rd December to Sunday 6th January.

The Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Graham Spring, said: “There isn’t a retailer, hotelier, restaurateur, publican, or attraction provider in Tralee who won’t go the extra mile to ensure that the Christmas experience for locals and visitors is the most memorable ever. The Councillors in Tralee Municipal District fully support Tralee Chamber Alliance who are proud to promote Tralee as Kerry’s Shopping Capital all year round.
Tralee is the perfect destination for shopping trips offering a range of major brands, individual family owned stores, with free parking and hundreds of dining options.”

Much of the entertainment and activities to promote Tralee as a great shopping and fun destination throughout Christmas would not be possible without the support of the members of Tralee Chamber Alliance.

The President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Aidan Kelly, said: “With the recent launch of the Tralee Voucher, a line-up of great music and events in Tralee, and free parking throughout the festive season, there are loads of great reasons to do your shopping locally throughout the town. Our team have launched a major advertising campaign for our members, promoting shopping in Tralee, and are inviting more businesses in Tralee to join Tralee Chamber Alliance now or in January 2019.”
