Helena Rusk from Haven Pharmacy Kennellys Tralee has beaten 51 other Haven pharmacy ambassadors from all over Ireland to win Ambassador of the year in the 3rd Haven Pharmacy Awards announced on Saturday 12th November. This was the third year in a row that Haven Pharmacy Kennellys has received an award, winning pharmacist of the year and best front of shop in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

The award was presented at a gala dinner hosted by RTE presenter Brian Ormond and attended by over 400 pharmacists, staff and employees of the Haven Pharmacy Co-operative along with industry and trade guests.

Helena from Haven Pharmacy Kennellys, Tralee was presented with the Haven Ambassador award – which was sponsored by Glaxosmithkline – for her outstanding execution of the Haven Pharmacy Brand, in-store promotions and excellent customer service.

Commenting on the win principal pharmacist, Owen Daly said: We are very proud of Helena. Her award was richly deserved and recognises the high standards of customer service and store presentation she achieves.

This marked another very successful year for Haven Pharmacy Kennellys. In addition to receiving the Retail Excellence Ireland Mark of Excellence in early November, Owen Daly their supervising pharmacist was nominated for the Excellence in Community Pharmacy award at a recent national pharmacy awards night held in the Mansion House Dublin. “We are very proud of our brand and everything our co-operative has achieved in such a short space of time. Thanks to our customers we have more than exceeded all expectations!”

The Haven Pharmacy awards were held for the third time this year following the successful roll-out of the brand across the country in December 2014. Regular health checks, patient information and consultation, literature and health interventions form a major part of the overall brand offer and the co-operative is planning to introduce more health screenings in pharmacy and regular health talks. “We want Haven Pharmacy to be synonymous with expert care locally delivered – no matter where you are in the country” says Owen.

One of the biggest attractions of the group is the Haven Hot Spots and Haven Top Five, a range of competitive product offers and promotions which appear as regular features throughout all pharmacies in the group and are already becoming a firm favourite with pharmacy customers looking for both value and choice.

Haven Pharmacy is now the leading, fastest growing independent co-operative pharmacy group in Ireland– and one of the largest dispensers of medicines in Ireland. They are the only pharmacy group created by pharmacists, owned by pharmacists and led by pharmacists. There are fifty two pharmacies in the group, over 100 pharmacists and over 400 staff.
